Postdoctoral Position in Molecular Neuroimmunology and Multi-Omics at Karolinska Institutet (SciLifeLab PULSE)

A postdoctoral opportunity is available in Molecular Neuroimmunology at Karolinska Institutet, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Majid Pahlevan Kakhki. The position is part of the SciLifeLab PULSE program, focusing on the study of Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) in Multiple Sclerosis, with an emphasis on linking physical properties to cell-specific molecular signatures. The research integrates advanced multi-omics, functional genomics, CRISPR, and variant-to-function platforms, aiming to translate discovery into therapeutics. The ideal candidate will have expertise in multiple sclerosis, neuroscience, immunology, molecular biology, or exosome/EV research. The project offers the opportunity to co-develop a proposal for the SciLifeLab PULSE call, which supports both academic and entrepreneurial tracks. The fellowship includes advanced training in research and transferable skills, international and interdisciplinary collaboration, and mandatory secondments at partner institutions. Eligibility requirements include holding a PhD awarded within the last 3 years by the application deadline (March 16, 2026), with possible exemptions for parental or medical leave, national service, or refugee status. Applicants must not have spent more than 12 months in Sweden in the last 3 years and cannot be permanent employees in the host lab. Candidates should have a strong CV in the relevant research areas and be available to start by October 2026. The SciLifeLab PULSE program is funded by the European Union and is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The program recruits 48 postdocs in total, with 27 positions available in the current call. Application materials include a CV, motivation letter, research proposal, and letters of reference, among other documents. For more information, candidates should consult the Guide for Applicants and the official SciLifeLab PULSE website. To apply, interested candidates should email their CV and a brief motivation letter to Majid Pahlevan Kakhki. Further details and application guidelines are available via the provided links.
