Fully Funded PhD in Spatial Land Use Decision Support (GIS, Agriculture) at Teagasc/Maynooth University

A fully funded PhD scholarship is available through the Walsh Scholars Programme at Teagasc, in partnership with Maynooth University, Ireland. This doctoral research focuses on spatial land use decision support, applying advanced GIS and spatial modelling to agricultural land-use decision-making. The project will integrate soil, climate, and yield datasets to evaluate scenarios and inform evidence-based advisory and policy frameworks for sustainable agriculture. The successful candidate will join a four-year structured doctoral programme, based at the Teagasc Ashtown Research Centre in Dublin. The programme offers a €25,000 annual stipend, university fees covered up to €6,000 per annum, and opportunities for international research placements. The research is highly interdisciplinary, combining agriculture, environmental science, geography, and data-driven decision support systems.
