Next-Generation CO2 Capture Technologies

A fully funded PhD position is available at the University of Queensland’s School of Chemical Engineering, in collaboration with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Green Electrochemical Transformation of Carbon Dioxide (GETCO2). The research focuses on developing next-generation polymer–zeolite composite membranes for direct air capture (DAC) of CO2, addressing urgent climate challenges. The project uses multiscale approaches to design and model new membranes from first principles, aiming for high selectivity and permeability. Candidates should have a strong background in chemical engineering, materials science, or computational modelling, with skills in molecular simulation (molecular dynamics, Monte Carlo), process modelling (MATLAB/Python), and data management. The position is fully funded, offering a $36,400 annual stipend (2025 rate, tax free, indexed) and full tuition coverage.
