The IndiBrain Marie Curie Doctoral Network is offering 15 fully funded PhD positions in Computational Visual Neuroscience, hosted by leading universities and research institutes across Europe. This innovative program aims to characterize individual differences in brain plasticity and dynamics, advancing personalized neuroscience for effective and sustainable health care and rehabilitation. The network brings together expertise in advanced neuroimaging, computational and network neuroscience, machine learning, biologically inspired AI, vision science, predictive coding, clinical neuroscience, and neurotechnology.

PhD candidates will explore how individual variability shapes brain structure, function, and behaviour, with a particular focus on visual and neurological disorders. Research topics include developing next-generation computational models of the human brain, investigating individual differences in brain networks, and translating neuroscience discoveries into personalized brain health solutions. Vision science serves as a core model system, linking neural mechanisms to perception, behaviour, and disease.

Eligibility requires a Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field, transnational mobility (not having resided in the host country for more than 12 months in the past 36 months), and not already holding a doctoral degree. Selection is based on academic excellence, research skills, motivation, creativity, independence, and the expected impact of the training.
