About this position

The Herth Group at the University of Copenhagen is recruiting three postdoctoral researchers for 2-year positions in the fields of radiopharmaceutical chemistry, medicinal/organic chemistry, and translational radiochemistry & technology. The research focuses on the development of next-generation astatinated radiopharmaceuticals for cancer therapy, including neuroendocrine tumors and ovarian cancer, with projects spanning from discovery to clinical translation. The positions are embedded in a highly interdisciplinary and translational environment, involving close collaboration with GMP production, clinical application, and industrial partners.

Research areas include radiopharmaceutical chemistry (development of new radiolabeling strategies for astatine-211–labeled drug candidates), medicinal/organic chemistry (structure–activity relationship studies, optimization of lead compounds, and development of molecular targeting modules for CAR T cell therapy), and translational radiochemistry (automation, upscaling, and transfer to synthesis modules). The group employs advanced radiolabelling technologies, machine-learning-supported optimization, and a bench-to-bedside approach, targeting both small molecules and larger biomolecules such as monoclonal antibodies and nanobodies.

Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant field (radiochemistry, radiopharmaceutical chemistry, engineering, medicinal chemistry, or organic chemistry), strong hands-on experience, and a clear interest in translational drug development.
