I'm pleased to share that applications are now open for the Vice-Chancellor’s PhD Scholarships at the University of West London, starting in September 2025.
These prestigious scholarships are fully funded, offering:
Full-time: £22,000 annual stipend (tax-free) + Tuition fees waived (3 years)
Part-time: £11,000 annual stipend (tax-free) + Tuition fees waived (6 years)
I'm particularly keen to supervise PhD projects in these innovative areas:
* Spiking Large Language Models (LLMs) – Exploring energy-efficient NLP using neuromorphic computing and spiking neural networks.
* AI-Assisted Investigative Interviewing – Developing NLP-driven solutions to support investigative interviewing, enhancing accuracy and fairness in law enforcement.
* AI-Powered Accessibility Tools – Creating personalised learning tools using AI and NLP to support neurodiverse students (ADHD, ASD).
* AI-Enhanced Flood Early Warning Systems – Applying real-time sentiment analysis and NLP to enhance public trust and improve flood risk communication.
* Human-Centred Artificial Intelligence (HCAI) – Designing ethical, user-centric AI systems prioritising human values, interaction, and experiences.
* LLM-Enhanced Rehabilitation Robotics – Integrating Large Language Models (LLMs), multimodal sensing, and adaptive therapy planning to develop context-aware, personalised robotic rehabilitation.
