We have a PhD position available in my research lab, Wearable Technology and Sensory Enhancement Laboratory (WTSE), at the University of Illinois at Chicago. At the WTSE lab, we develop innovative sensing technologies and pioneering diagnostic and rehabilitation devices. Our collaborative team of engineers from UIC and medical professionals from the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab rigorously evaluates the diagnostic and therapeutic effectiveness of the developed technologies at the clinic. We seek a PhD student to join our team and contribute to our groundbreaking research efforts. The candidate should have a strong interest in the development and clinical evaluation of diagnostic devices and rehabilitation interventions, as well as an interest in modeling disorders. Responsibilities include advancing device design and development, assisting in establishing experimental protocols, conducting clinical trials, analyzing data, and preparing findings for publication. The candidate will play a crucial role in driving the research forward and ensuring that our innovative technologies effectively address the stakeholder’s needs.Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, as the role involves close collaboration with medical professionals and direct patient interaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data processing, with expertise in embedded systems, circuit design, and user-interface development.
