We are hiring a PhD student at the University of Groningen, to work in southern Kenya and Northern Tanzania on the project "Climate resilience in Africa: the role of ownership rights". The study will assess how promoting gender-inclusive ownership structures impact climate resilience in Maasai communities in Kenya and northern Tanzania. And it will explore how the shift from communal to private land management affects climate resilience. The position comes with a full salary plus research costs for a period of 4 years.
Successful candidates speak at least good English and Swahili, and preferably also Maasai.

Funding details

Full funding including tuition fees and living expenses is available for this position. The scholarship covers all educational costs and provides a monthly stipend.
