A fully funded PhD position is available in the Department of Computer Science at The University of Alabama, starting in Spring or Fall 2026. The research focuses on hyperspectral remote sensing imaging and deep learning, with applications in spectral-spatial analysis, feature extraction, dimensionality reduction, and data fusion. The successful candidate will develop innovative deep learning algorithms for real-world challenges in hyperspectral imaging and remote sensing, collaborate on interdisciplinary projects, and publish in high-impact journals.

Applicants must have a Master’s degree from a U.S. institution in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Remote Sensing, or Geoinformatics, with prior research experience in hyperspectral imaging and remote sensing. Strong programming skills in MATLAB/Python and experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow or PyTorch) are required, along with proficiency in English and excellent analytical and communication skills. The position is fully funded, including stipend and tuition coverage.
