About this position

Second EPSRC PhD Opportunity: Quantum-Resilient Cryptographic Architectures for Securing 6G-enabled Connected and Autonomous Vehicles Communication

We are pleased to announce a fully funded EPSRC PhD studentship at The University of Huddersfield:

“Design and Evaluation of Quantum-Resilient Cryptographic Architectures for Securing 6G-enabled Connected and Autonomous Vehicles Communication”

Details:

The rise of quantum computing poses a significant threat to the current cryptographic systems, particularly in safety-critical domains, including connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs). This project aims to design, implement, and evaluate quantum-resilient cryptographic architectures tailored for CAV communication networks, including emerging 6G-based vehicular systems. By integrating post-quantum cryptographic primitives into V2X and 6G-enabled protocols, the project will ensure long-term data confidentiality, integrity, and authentication. Through simulation-driven evaluation and risk assessment aligned with ISO/SAE 21434 standard, the research will support the UK’s strategic goals in digital security, intelligent mobility, and future-proofing critical infrastructure against quantum-era threats.
