University of Southampton are offering a fully funded (UK Only) PhD studentship on Smart Sustainable E-Textile Fitness and Wellbeing Monitoring System.

Funding details

This is a fully funded PhD studentship for UK applicants, provided through the H2024 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network funded by the European Commission. Funding covers tuition fees and provides a stipend. The project is part of the FERNS network, which offers additional training and mobility opportunities.

What's required

Applicants must have a UK 2:1 honours degree or its international equivalent in electronic engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline. Candidates must not already possess a doctoral degree and must comply with Marie Skłodowska-Curie mobility rules (not have resided or carried out main activity in the UK for more than 12 months in the 36 months before recruitment). Applicants should be able to start by March 2026, work as part of an interdisciplinary team, and develop a wide-ranging skill set. English language qualification may be required for non-native speakers. Application must include a research proposal, CV, two academic references, degree transcripts and certificates, and English language qualification if applicable.
