The International Max Planck Research School for Epigenetics, Biophysics and Metabolism (IMPRS-EBM) offers fully funded doctoral positions for talented and motivated students passionate about basic research in the fields of epigenetics, biophysics, metabolism, cell biology, biochemistry, functional genomics, bioinformatics, and proteomics. IMPRS-EBM is a collaborative program between the Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics and the University of Freiburg, Germany, providing a vibrant interdisciplinary and international research environment.

A unique feature of the program is the laboratory rotation period, where doctoral researchers spend time in three different labs before selecting their PhD project. Applicants must have an MSc, MRes, Diploma, or equivalent degree in Biology, Biomedicine, Chemistry, Physics, or related sciences by September 2026. Practical laboratory experience and excellent English language skills are required, along with a desire to work in a dynamic, international team. The program provides full funding, including tuition and stipend, and access to advanced facilities and training.
