A fully funded PhD position is available at the College of Engineering, United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), under the supervision of Distinguished Faculty member Zafar Said. The research focuses on Renewable Energy and Thermal Systems, with key areas including Solar Energy Systems (PV/T, Solar Thermal), Building Heating, Cooling & Energy-Efficient HVAC Systems, Advanced Heat Transfer & Thermal Management, Nanofluids & Advanced Working Fluids, AI-Based Modeling, Optimization & Smart Energy Systems, and Sustainable & Low-Carbon Energy Technologies. The opportunity is ideal for candidates interested in developing next-generation intelligent, sustainable energy and building technologies aligned with global net-zero goals.

Applicants should have a strong background in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Building Services/HVAC, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related disciplines. Minimum requirements include a Master's GPA of 3.7–4.0 (or equivalent), Bachelor's GPA of 3.5–4.0, a strong research background (preferably with Scopus-indexed publications), and English proficiency (IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL equivalent). Additional advantages include experience with CFD (ANSYS/COMSOL), TRNSYS, EnergyPlus, MATLAB/Python for modeling and optimization, experimental thermal systems or HVAC lab experience, GRE score, and conference papers or patents.

The selected candidate will receive a fully funded PhD fellowship, which includes a stipend and research support. The fellowship covers living expenses and research costs, enabling the student to focus on high-impact research in energy efficiency, smart buildings, and sustainable thermal systems.
