Funding
This is a fully funded PhD for UK/EU and international students. The bursary covers tuition fees for three years and provides a stipend in line with the UKRI rate (£20,780 for 2025/26). An additional £1,500 per annum is provided for project costs/consumables. Costs for student visa and immigration health surcharge are not covered.

Requirements
Applicants must have a good undergraduate degree (2:1 or above) or a Master’s degree in Biomedical Science, Neuroscience, Developmental Biology, Genetics, or a related discipline. Essential requirements include a strong interest in neurodevelopmental disorders, cell biology, or genetics, good organisational skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and willingness to work with zebrafish. Desirable skills include practical experience in molecular biology techniques (PCR, cloning, CRISPR), microscopy/image analysis, statistical analysis/data handling, and strong communication skills. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 with no component below 6.0 is required.
