INSEAD Online Pre-Doctoral and Doctoral Summer Camps (May–June 2026) and PhD in Management (mid-August 2027 Intake) INSEAD in France

INSEAD, one of the world’s leading and most international business schools, invites early-stage researchers and current PhD students to participate in two online summer camps and to apply for its fully funded PhD in Management programme (mid-August 2027 intake). The summer camps, held in May–June 2026, are designed to accelerate research journeys and provide exposure to cutting-edge topics in management research.

The Pre-Doctoral Summer Camp, 'Using AI for Research in Organisation Science', runs from May 15 to June 15, 2026, and is tailored for pre-doctoral researchers, research assistants without PhDs, and those preparing for PhD applications in Strategy, Entrepreneurship, or Organisational Behaviour. The camp introduces responsible integration of AI into management research, with faculty including Professor Phanish Puranam (INSEAD) and Dr. Vivanna Fang He (UCL). Participants from other fields are welcome, though some content may be less directly applicable.

The Doctoral Summer Camp, 'Strategic Management as the Design of Complex Adaptive Systems', runs from May 11 to June 19, 2026, and is intended for current PhD students (second year onward) in Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Organisational Behaviour. This camp explores Complex Adaptive Systems thinking in strategic management, led by Professor Phanish Puranam (INSEAD) and Professor Daniel A. Levinthal (Wharton).

Building on these camps, INSEAD offers a fully funded PhD in Management for the mid-August 2027 intake. The programme recruits candidates in Accounting and Control, Decision Sciences, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Marketing, Organisational Behaviour, Strategy, and Technology & Operations Management. The PhD prepares graduates for academic careers at leading business schools worldwide, offering rigorous research training, close faculty mentorship, and a unique dual-campus experience in France and Singapore. Students may also pursue a PhD exchange with The Wharton School, adding a third international dimension.

All admitted PhD candidates receive a five-year scholarship covering tuition fee waiver, annual stipend (living and accommodation allowance), research and conference funding, and comprehensive international health insurance. Additional highlights include access to a state-of-the-art Behavioural Lab in Paris and a global, collaborative research community.

Applicants should have at least a 3-year undergraduate degree in any discipline; a master's degree is advantageous but not required. Strong academic record, critical thinking, analytical abilities, clear communication skills, and motivation for an academic career are essential. GMAT or GRE scores (less than five years old) are mandatory, and TOEFL is required if applicable. Application materials include CV, statement of purpose, academic transcripts, three letters of recommendation (at least one academic referee), and participation in a one-way video interview. The online application opens in September 2026, with interviews for shortlisted candidates between January and March 2027. The application deadline is March 24, 2027.
