The Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University is inviting applications for a full-time, tenure-track Instructor position to begin July 1, 2026. The successful candidate will join a vibrant academic community in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and will be responsible for teaching core courses in the Juris Doctor curriculum, particularly Contracts, Torts, and Civil Procedure. Additional teaching needs may include high-demand courses such as tax, family, labour and employment, immigration, construction, equity and trusts, among others.

Applicants must hold an LL.B. or J.D. (or equivalent) and a master’s degree (LL.M. or equivalent) at the time of appointment. A strong academic record, several years of successful professional practice, and evidence of post-secondary teaching excellence are required. The position includes 80% teaching and 20% service responsibilities, with participation in faculty and university committees. Instructors are full faculty members, participate in governance, and are covered by the Dalhousie Faculty Association collective agreement.
