Dear network,
With Dr. Yasmina Chenoune-Leroul , we’re thrilled to announce a PhD position focusing on predictive imaging in oncology, specifically evaluating the prognosis of patients with hepato-cholangiocarcinoma, a rare liver cancer. This exciting project is a collaboration between ESME Research Lab ( ESME, école d'ingénieurs généraliste ) in Paris and Henri Mondor Hospital in Créteil.
About the Project:
Primary liver cancers are the 3rd leading cause of cancer-related deaths globally. This PhD project aims to develop predictive imaging biomarkers using MRI data to better classify and understand hepato-cholangiocarcinoma, potentially improving treatment decisions and patient outcomes.
What You will Do:
- Develop machine learning models to analyze MRI data for cancer classification.
- Work with a large dataset of 400+ annotated cases and incorporate clinical and genomic data.
- Engage in interdisciplinary research with cutting-edge techniques like deep learning and 3D segmentation.
Candidate Requirements:
- Master’s in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields.
- Strong skills in machine learning, deep learning, and image processing.
Proficiency in programming (Python or MATLAB).
- Interest in medical applications and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Position Details:
Start Date: November/December 2024
Location: ESME, Ivry-sur-Seine, with regular sessions at Henri Mondor Hospital
