With the increasingly complex demands facing water companies, the need for innovation is paramount. While the development of clean water and wastewater solutions can be technically feasible, sometimes they fail to be adopted at a wider scale. This PhD project therefore provides an opportunity to identify the barriers and facilitators of innovation adoption and to develop both theory and practice in the area.
- £24k a year stipend for four years and all fees covered
- Opportunity to research and work closely with our partner Yorkshire Water on societally important issues
- Extensive training in how the water sector works as well as development of general leadership, innovation and communication skills.
- Supervised by myself and Professor Joby Boxall FREng at The University of Sheffield to provide a cross-disciplinary Organisational Psychology / Engineering perspective
- Part of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Water Infrastructure and Resilience ( CDT WIRe ) involving Sheffield, Cranfield and Newcastle Universities.
We're looking for candidates with a good MSc degree in Organisational / Occupational / Business Psychology, Innovation Management or a related social science subject (or equivalent experience).
