The Leibniz-Institut für Analytische Wissenschaften ISAS e. V. in Dortmund, Germany, is seeking a motivated PhD candidate to join the Research Group Proteomics. ISAS is renowned for developing advanced analytical methods that contribute to health research, with a focus on improving prevention, early diagnosis, and therapy for diseases such as cardiovascular conditions and cancer. The successful candidate will work within the BMFTR-funded I-CHECK-HEART Consortium, focusing on planning and performing proteome analyses. Key responsibilities include developing methods to quantify very low-concentrated proteins in human blood plasma, particularly using targeted LC-/MS/MS techniques to detect interleukins. The role also involves continuous improvement of analytical methods, data evaluation and visualization, laboratory documentation, and collaboration with project partners, including regular presentation of research findings.

Applicants should possess a Master's, Diploma, or equivalent degree in biology, chemistry, physics, or a related field such as pharmacy or food technology. Laboratory experience, ideally in bioanalytics, is required, and prior experience with targeted LC–MS/MS methods is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, a solution-oriented mindset, proficiency in MS Office, and a willingness to travel for business. Excellent English language skills are essential; German is advantageous but not mandatory.
