The ThromboRisk consortium brings together expertise from ten universities across Europe, aiming to develop multi-level thrombosis risk prediction models by combining mechanobiology, biochemistry, pathophysiology, and computational modelling. The doctoral candidate will contribute a unique perspective to this integrated framework, addressing key aspects of thrombus formation, growth, rupture, and clinical impact.
As part of the program, the PhD student will benefit from hands-on research training, professional development courses, and immersive experiences at partner institutes through secondments totaling 12 months. The position includes teaching responsibilities (10-15% of employment), supervision of BSc/MSc students, and opportunities to collaborate with industrial partners. Employment conditions are highly competitive, with a four-year contract, intermediate evaluation after nine months, and a salary package in line with MSCA and Dutch university standards.
