The Institute of Molecular Biology in Mainz, Germany, is offering a fully funded PhD position within its International PhD Program (IPP). The research project, supervised by Professor Edward Lemke, focuses on high resolution fluorescence imaging of protein plasticity, with a particular emphasis on intrinsically disordered proteins and their roles in vital cellular processes such as transcription, nuclear transport, and healthy ageing. The Lemke group employs multidisciplinary approaches, including single-molecule techniques, microfluidics, super-resolution microscopy, and chemical/synthetic biology tools, to investigate protein dynamics and microphase separation in higher eukaryotes.
