PhD Positions in Ageing and Digitalization (Digi4Age) – Social Sciences, Business, Health at LUT University LUT University in Finland

The Digi4Age PhD programme at LUT University, Finland, offers fully funded positions for future leaders in ageing and digitalizing societies. This interdisciplinary initiative, funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), enables doctoral candidates to develop expertise in the intersection of ageing and digitalization. Research will span across social sciences, humanities, business, and health & care research, with opportunities to collaborate with leading European researchers and stakeholders.

PhD candidates will benefit from interdisciplinary supervision, participation in spring schools, secondments, and a comprehensive training and networking package. The programme is designed to foster career development and provide exposure to diverse research environments across Europe, including Finland, Austria, Germany, Lithuania, Netherlands, and Spain.

Eligibility criteria include holding a master’s degree in sociology, political science, social work, business, health sciences, economics, or a related discipline. Applicants must comply with the MSCA mobility rule (not having resided in the host country for more than 12 months in the last 36 months) and must not already possess a doctoral degree. Proficiency in English and a strong interest in ageing and digitalization are essential.

The funding package covers a competitive MSCA salary, social security, mobility and family allowances, and access to a vibrant research community.
