PhD Research Fellow in Environmental Sociology and Politics of Green Transition University of Agder in Norway

The University of Agder (UiA) in Kristiansand, Norway, is offering a fully funded PhD Research Fellow position in Environmental Sociology and the Politics of Green Transition. This opportunity is ideal for candidates passionate about socioecological transitions, sustainability, and environmental justice. The research will focus on the politics of the green transition, including democracy and governance challenges in sustainability policies, social movements and discourses around environmental change, inequalities and injustices in environmental governance, and responses to the green transition from populist and far-right perspectives.

Applicants should have a master’s degree in Sociology, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field. Strong analytical skills, an original research proposal, and excellent English communication abilities are required. An interest in environmental and political sociology is considered a plus. The position offers a gross annual salary of NOK 550,800 plus pension, professional development, teaching opportunities, and a supportive, inclusive work environment on modern campuses in Kristiansand and Grimstad.
