The positions focus on two main research areas: Housing and Urban Geography (affiliated with the Institute for Housing and Urban Research, IBF) and Political Ecology (including feminist and decolonial perspectives). Candidates are encouraged to propose their own research projects within these areas, and interdisciplinary approaches are welcome.
The PhD program consists of 180 credits for the dissertation and 60 credits for doctoral coursework, totaling four years of full-time study. Students may spend up to 20% of their time on teaching or administrative tasks. The department is recognized for its world-class research environment, interdisciplinary opportunities, and HR Excellence in Research award.
