Multiple PhD studentships available in the areas of sport technology, data science and environmental physiology.The Department of Sport, Health and Physical Education (https://lnkd.in/ehzJqFuH ) have several opportunities available to pursue PhD studies, on projects with partner organisations that include international sporting federations. Each PhD project is intended to build upon existing work from our group, in particular concerning; (i) protecting health during exercise in the heat, through multiple integrated wearable sensors, (ii) developing innovative wearable sensors for performance monitoring in elite sport, particularly in aquatics, (iii) using artificial intelligence to optimise real-time data feedback, (iv) development and validation of smart garments within endurance sports.Expertise within environmental physiology, sensor technologies and statistical modelling will be particularly beneficial. Applications are especially welcome from individuals who have practitioner experience with applied sport science, as well as those with relevant experience from related industries such as data science and microelectronics.Studentship funding is available and successful candidates will undertake a 4-year PhD programme of study, in accordance with the requirements of the HKBU Graduate School.
