Postdoctoral Position in Biochemistry and Chemical Biology at National Institutes of Health National Institutes of Health in United States

The Cheloha group at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Laboratory of Bioorganic Chemistry is seeking applications for funded postdoctoral positions in biochemistry and chemical biology. The research focuses on the synthesis of new chemical and protein engineering tools to study cell surface proteins, including disease-relevant G protein-coupled receptors. This opportunity is ideal for candidates interested in advancing their expertise in protein engineering, peptide and organic chemistry, protein expression and purification, and cell-based assay development.

Applicants must hold a PhD in biochemistry, chemistry, pharmacology, or a related field. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of independently planning and executing research projects. Additional skills of interest include experience with peptide or organic chemistry, protein expression and purification, and cell-based assay development, though these are not required. The NIH postdoctoral program welcomes U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and international applicants (with some exceptions), provided the doctoral degree was received within five years of starting and the candidate can pass a federal background check.

NIH postdoctoral fellows receive competitive stipends, which are adjusted annually based on experience, and a supplement covering the full cost of health insurance for individuals and families.
