Postdoctoral Positions in Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), Cryptography, and Information Theory at Simula UiB Simula UiB in Norway

Simula UiB, a leading research institute in Cryptography and Information Theory located in Bergen, Norway, is inviting applications for two postdoctoral positions in Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE). The successful candidates will join Håvard Raddum’s team and contribute to two innovative projects: PREMAL, focusing on privacy-preserving machine learning using FHE, and SECSHARE, which aims to develop a privacy-preserving biometric authentication system. The research will address challenges such as encrypted inference, model simplification for FHE, encrypted training, federated learning, and cryptographic protocol design involving FHE and multi-party computation (MPC).

Applicants should hold a PhD in Cryptography, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a closely related field, with a strong publication record. Basic knowledge of FHE is required, and practical experience in FHE or cryptographic engineering is advantageous. Candidates must demonstrate high motivation, analytical ability, strong communication and collaboration skills, and fluency in English. Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to contribute to Simula UiB’s inclusive environment are expected. Candidates nearing PhD completion should clarify their timeline. Eligibility for security clearance in Norway may be necessary.
