The University of Coimbra invites applications for a postdoctoral research grant under the CogBooster project, titled "Rebooting Psychological Research through Cognitive Neuroscience." This position is based at the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences and is funded by the European Commission through the Horizon Europe Program (GA 101087584). The successful candidate will join a dynamic research team focused on advancing the understanding of visual perception and prediction through cognitive neuroscience methodologies. The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for acquiring and analyzing behavioral and brain imaging data from vision science experiments. The role emphasizes discovering and modeling the mechanisms underlying visual perception and prediction. The grantee will take a leading role in writing manuscripts for publication, presenting research findings at national and international scientific events, and supporting the development and maintenance of laboratory resources and documentation. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field, obtained within the last three years, with the research conducted at an institution other than the University of Coimbra. Candidates must not have exceeded a cumulative period of three years in this type of grant and must not have conducted the majority of their doctoral research at the host institution. Strong programming skills (Matlab, Unix, Python), a record of relevant publications, and a clear alignment with the project’s goals are essential. The grant offers a monthly stipend of €1,851.00, with voluntary social security and mandatory personal accident insurance for grants of six months or more.
