The Dev Group at the Early Cancer Institute, University of Cambridge, is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher in Bioinformatics and Translational Oncology. This position focuses on mapping the epigenetic evolution of early prostate cancer and developing liquid biopsy readouts to detect and track lethal disease at earlier stages. The research sits at the interface of epigenetics, cancer genomics, and liquid biopsies, leveraging multi-omic datasets, methylation technologies, and translational research questions.

The successful candidate will join a vibrant, collaborative team with close links to the Wellcome Sanger Institute and Imperial College London. The role involves analyzing high-throughput epigenomic and genomic datasets from tissue and liquid biopsy samples, developing scalable analysis pipelines, and supporting novel methylation and nanopore-based assays. The research is part of a Prostate Cancer Research–funded initiative and is closely linked to clinical trial platforms and industry partners.

Applicants should have a strong computational or hybrid wet-lab/computational background, with expertise in bioinformatics, data science, computational biology, molecular biology, genomics, or epigenetics. Experience with multi-omic data integration and an interest in translational cancer research are highly valued. The position is fixed-term for 2 years, with a salary range of £33,966 – £57,696, depending on experience.
