About this position

The Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology (INP) in Greifswald, Germany, is offering a postdoctoral position in its Plasma Surface Technology department, focusing on application-oriented research in laser-based plasma diagnostics. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and applying advanced laser-based diagnostic techniques to characterize plasma-chemical processes and plasma-surface interactions.

Key tasks include operating and maintaining a two-photon absorption laser-induced fluorescence experiment (TALIF), quantifying atomic hydrogen densities in hydrogen-containing plasmas, analyzing loss rates on selected surfaces, and extending molecular radical analysis using cavity ring-down spectroscopy. The role involves conducting detailed studies to elucidate plasma-chemical processes and identify key species in plasma, as well as collaborating with scientists from INP and partner institutions. The position is initially for 12 months, with the possibility of extension for another year, and offers full-time employment (40 hours per week) with remuneration according to the TV-L wage group 13.
