The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Villa research group for an ERC-funded project focused on light-driven nanomotors. The research aims to develop nanomotors with enhanced charge transfer and energy storage capabilities, exploring the fundamental relationships between charge dynamics, surface engineering, and nanomotor propulsion under varying light conditions. The project combines materials synthesis, photophysical and mechanistic studies, and advanced characterization techniques to address challenges in sustainable catalysis, renewable energy, and health.
The successful candidate will synthesize heterostructured materials and persistent phosphors, engineer surface interfaces, and perform physicochemical and photophysical characterization of nanomotors. Responsibilities also include analyzing nanomotor motion, writing research reports, presenting findings, and supporting team members.
