About this position

The University of Turku's Faculty of Technology, Department of Computing, is offering a fully funded two-year postdoctoral researcher position in the field of post-quantum cryptography. The successful candidate will join a dynamic, interdisciplinary team and contribute to the design, development, and implementation of state-of-the-art post-quantum cryptographic protocols and algorithms.

Key responsibilities include conducting advanced research in post-quantum cryptography, collaborating with top-tier European universities and industrial partners, participating in project implementation and reporting, and contributing to academic life through supervision of students and teaching activities. The position also offers training opportunities in proposal writing, high-impact scientific publishing, and collaborative research with international teams.

Applicants must hold a PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, with strong knowledge of cryptography or information security. A strong publication record, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in English are required. Knowledge of post-quantum cryptography is considered an asset. In exceptional cases, candidates who have nearly completed their doctoral studies may be considered for a Project Researcher role.

In exceptional cases, applicants who have completed almost all doctoral studies required for a PhD in a relevant field may be considered as Project Researchers, requiring a higher university degree. Special emphasis is placed on competence and practical expertise in the field. The ability to conduct independent scientific work and necessary teaching skills are required.
