About this position

This PhD position is funded as a part of the EPSRC hub on Probabilistic AI:

The hub brings together investigators across six universities (Edinburgh, Lancaster, Manchester, Bristol, Warwick, Cambridge). The project will have a strong computational focus on Bayesian methods for machine learning and AI. Depending on the students interest topics may include

  • Scalable inference through Bayesian predictive learning and martingale posteriors,
  • Interpreting and understanding Bayesian uncertainty (e.g. for sparse Bayesian neural networks),
  • sparse approximation of (multilevel) Gaussian processes
