Postdoctoral Researcher in Biomedical, Chemical, and Materials Engineering (Assistant Professor Level)
This postdoctoral position at the Faculty of Mechatronics, Warsaw University of Technology, offers an exciting opportunity for researchers specializing in biomedical, chemical, and materials engineering. The project focuses on the development and optimization of processes for obtaining mixtures of solutions and dispersions of advanced materials, particularly two-dimensional materials such as MXenes, on a larger scale. Key responsibilities include process optimization (time, temperature, method, and speed of mixing), development of initial assumptions for life cycle assessment (LCA), and comprehensive evaluation of the carbon footprint throughout the life cycle of the innovative 2d4PFAS technology. The research places particular emphasis on quantifying the environmental impact associated with PFAS removal, identifying critical environmental points, and formulating recommendations for the safety and sustainability of the technology.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic research environment and collaborate with experts in the field. The position is funded, offering a competitive salary of 10,000 PLN (approx. 2,000 EUR after tax) for the duration of the project, along with additional benefits for work candidates as outlined on the university website. The role is full-time (40 hours per week) and is supported by an EU research framework programme.
Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, materials engineering, or precision engineering. Essential qualifications include expertise in two-dimensional materials technology (including MXenes), manufacturing techniques, and electrochemical process research. A good command of English is required for technical literature analysis and publication preparation. Candidates should have 1–4 years of research experience. Application materials must include a CV, personal questionnaire, copies of higher education and doctoral diplomas, a list of scientific, teaching, and organizational achievements, documents confirming additional qualifications, and declarations regarding legal capacity, public rights, and recognition of Warsaw University of Technology as the primary place of work.
The selection process involves the collection of applications, assessment by an internal expert committee based on excellence criteria, and subsequent review by the Faculty Council. For further details on benefits and application procedures, candidates are encouraged to consult the university's official website.
The application deadline is January 18, 2026. Interested candidates should submit their application materials via email to Assistant Professor Agnieszka Jastrzebska at [email protected]. This position is ideal for researchers seeking to advance their careers in a leading European institution and contribute to cutting-edge research in materials and environmental engineering.
