Teaching Faculty Position in Construction Management at Michigan State University

Michigan State University is inviting applications for a full-time, continuing teaching faculty position in the Construction Management (CM) Program, housed within the School of Planning, Design & Construction. The CM Program is a nationally recognized program offering BS, MS, and PhD degrees, and provides strong collaboration opportunities with the Civil Engineering Department. The successful candidate will teach three classes per semester (six per academic year) at the undergraduate or graduate level, covering topics such as construction methods and materials, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP), building science, building information modeling (BIM), real estate development and finance, structural analysis and design, quantity take offs and cost estimating, scheduling, contracts & specifications, project management, sustainable built environment, construction safety, soils and site survey, and infrastructure construction. In addition to teaching, the candidate will provide service to the CM program and the school, including supporting student activities, maintaining industry relationships, attending faculty meetings, and serving on committees. The program is part of a vibrant academic community with over 600 undergraduate and 75 graduate students, and is administered by the Colleges of Agriculture & Natural Resources. The School of Planning, Design, and Construction unites four academic programs related to the built environment, offering exceptional opportunities for professional growth and collaboration. Applicants must hold a Master's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering and Management, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Real Estate, Business Administration, or a closely related field. Required qualifications include strong communication skills and at least two years of construction management experience. Preferred qualifications are three or more years of U.S. construction management experience, relevant professional licensing or certifications, demonstrated ability to deliver applied, hands-on instruction, and two years of post-secondary college-level teaching experience.
