PhD Teaching and Research Assistant in Public and Social Law at Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB)

The Centre for Public and Social Law at Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) is offering a full-time teaching and research assistant position, or alternatively two half-time positions, starting 1 October 2026. This opportunity is ideal for candidates seeking to pursue doctoral research in public and social law while actively participating in teaching and faculty life. The assistant will be involved in research, teaching, and community service, with tasks equally divided between these areas. Research responsibilities include conducting doctoral research, writing publications, and supporting the Centre's ongoing projects. Teaching duties involve supervising practical work groups, primarily supporting first-year bachelor’s degree courses in public or social law, and participating in exam supervision, student fairs, and faculty events. The full-time mandate is initially for two years, renewable for up to six years total, while the half-time mandate can extend up to twelve years. The position requires a master's degree in law, excellent command of French, and at least excellent passive knowledge of English and Dutch. Additional strengths such as relevant professional experience, a second degree, or active knowledge of Dutch and English are valued. The doctoral research topic must align with the Centre’s main research axes, which can be explored on their website.
