Postdoctoral Researcher in AI-Powered Digital Twin for Parkinson’s Disease Diagnostics at University of Dubai
The University of Dubai is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher to join the SYNERGY-PD project, an AI-powered digital twin initiative for precision diagnostics and monitoring of Parkinson’s Disease. This project, funded by the Dubai Future Foundation RDI Grant, is led by the College of Engineering and IT and brings together a multidisciplinary team of international collaborators. The research focuses on biomarker analytics, including α-synuclein isoforms and neuron-derived extracellular vesicles, and the development of advanced AI pipelines for multimodal clinical data integration using Agentic AI approaches. The successful candidate will contribute to the design and real-time simulation of patient-specific digital twins, coordinate validation with clinical partners using UPDRS scoring and DaTscan imaging, and co-author high-impact publications and patents.
Supervisors and collaborators include Associate Professor Yassine Himeur (University of Dubai), Professor Shadi Atalla (University of Dubai), Professor Amin Beheshti (Macquarie University, Australia), Professor Fayçal Bensaali (Qatar University), Dr. Ammar Albanna (Alamal Psychiatric Hospital, Dubai), and Professor Wathiq Mansoor (American University of Baghdad, Iraq). The project offers access to advanced labs, datasets, and dissemination platforms, and the opportunity to work at the intersection of AI, neuroscience, and clinical research.
Applicants must have a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, AI in Healthcare, Bioinformatics, or a related field. Required skills include molecular biomarker analysis, machine learning, clinical data fusion, and proficiency in Python, R, or MATLAB. Strong scientific writing, presentation, and collaboration skills are essential. The position is fully funded for three years, with a competitive salary and research support.
