Postdoctoral Researcher in Climate Policy, Corporate Finance, and Applied Microeconomics at Swedish House of Finance
The Swedish House of Finance at the Stockholm School of Economics is seeking postdoctoral researchers for a cutting-edge project at the intersection of climate policy and firm behavior. The research team, led by Professors Per Strömberg (Stockholm School of Economics), Gustav Martinsson (Stockholm University), and Associate Professor Christian Thomann (KTH Royal Institute of Technology), focuses on policy-relevant questions using large-scale firm-level data on emissions, taxes, and financial outcomes. The project benefits from established data infrastructure and ongoing collaborations with Sveriges Riksbank and government agencies.
Postdoctoral scholars will have the opportunity to co-author research targeting top general-interest and leading field journals, work with senior faculty and policy institutions, and develop their own independent research projects. The position is ideal for empirically oriented candidates in corporate finance, climate, environmental, or energy economics, and applied microeconomics. Strong candidates in theory, trade, or macroeconomics with a clear interest in climate policy and corporate finance are also encouraged to apply.
The position is fully funded, offering a competitive salary of 45,000 SEK per month (before tax) for two years, with no teaching duties. Scholars will have access to rich administrative and firm-level datasets and a strong research infrastructure at the Swedish House of Finance and MISUM. The Stockholm School of Economics is renowned for its world-class research and educational programs, providing an environment that fosters creativity, collaboration, and innovation.
Applicants must have completed a doctoral degree or equivalent by the start date. Application materials include a cover letter, CV, job market paper, video presentation of the job market paper, and three recommenders selected in the EconJobMarket system. The deadline for applications is February 22, 2026, but review and selection may begin earlier. For further information, candidates may contact Associate Professor Christian Thomann at [email protected].
This opportunity is ideal for those interested in climate policy, corporate finance, and empirical research using large datasets. The position is based in Stockholm, Sweden, and offers a vibrant academic environment with strong institutional support.
