PhD Position in Data Science, Machine Learning, and Temporal Data Analysis in Healthcare
The Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV) at Stockholm University is inviting applications for a fully funded PhD position in Data Science. This opportunity is ideal for candidates passionate about advanced data analytics, machine learning, and extracting insights from complex, longitudinal, and multimodal data, particularly with applications in healthcare.
The successful candidate will join an internationally active research group focused on developing cutting-edge methods in data mining, machine learning, and temporal data analysis. The project emphasizes methodological work on extracting meaningful insights from large, complex datasets (both structured and unstructured), with a special focus on temporal and time-dependent analysis. Empirical evaluation will be conducted in real-world data contexts, especially in healthcare analytics.
The Data Science Research Group at Stockholm University is renowned for its expertise in mining and model understanding from healthcare and medical data sources. The group also works on predictive maintenance, integrated vehicle management, financial data, environmental data, and data from immersive technologies such as virtual reality. A key research theme is explainable machine learning, aiming to make complex models interpretable and actionable for decision-makers.
