PhD and Postdoctoral Positions in AI for Mobility, V2X, and Digital Twins at UCLA Mobility Lab (2026)
The UCLA Mobility Lab and UCLA Mobility Center of Excellence, led by Professor Jiaqi Ma, are recruiting multiple PhD students and postdoctoral scholars for research in generative AI for autonomy, V2X and multi-agent systems, roadway digitalization, traffic digital twins, edge intelligence, and AI for urban intelligence. The lab focuses on advancing mobility technologies for smart cities, intelligent vehicular and transportation systems, and collaborates with industry and public-sector partners. Researchers will have access to state-of-the-art datasets, computing resources, and field equipment, working in an interdisciplinary environment spanning transportation, AI, robotics, and urban systems.
Research areas include vision-language-action models for robotic planning, cooperative perception and standards development for V2X, dynamic simulation for autonomous driving, efficient edge architectures for robot control, and urban computing for spatial data mining.
