Postdoctoral Researcher in Computer Science (AI and Security)
The University of Luxembourg invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position in Computer Science, focusing on artificial intelligence in security and the security of AI systems. The successful candidate will join the Department of Computer Science (DCS) within the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM), and work in Professor Leprévost's group at the Laboratory of Algorithmics, Cryptology and Security. The university is renowned for its international, multilingual, and interdisciplinary environment, offering modern facilities and close ties to industry and European institutions.
The research project centers on AI in security, including the design and implementation of techniques to deceive content classifiers (text/code, audio, images, videos), detection of AI-generated content, and digital forensics. The position welcomes suggestions for related research topics, such as deep learning, evolutionary algorithms, and their applications in security. The postdoctoral researcher will also contribute to teaching (up to 90 hours per year in Bachelor and Master programs), coordinate activities in computer science, and help organize conferences.
Applicants must hold a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Applied Mathematics, with demonstrated interest in deep learning and/or evolutionary algorithms. Experience with large-scale or distributed mathematical computations, strong programming skills (C, C++, Python, Rust), and familiarity with UNIX/LINUX environments are required. GPU programming with CUDA is advantageous. Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of French or German is a plus but not required, as language courses are available.
The position is a fixed-term contract for 24 months, with a competitive yearly gross salary of EUR 85,176.
