Postdoctoral Position in Battery Materials and Industry 4.0 at United Arab Emirates University
United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join the research group led by Assistant Professor Manar Almazrouei. The position focuses on battery materials, including synthesis, characterization, and electrochemical testing, with a strong emphasis on lithium and sodium-ion battery technologies. The successful candidate will work within the Industry 4.0 District, a flagship initiative at UAEU that integrates advanced technologies such as smart digitalization, artificial intelligence, robotics, additive manufacturing, and materials science into academic and applied research.
The postdoctoral fellow will conduct advanced research in areas related to Industry 4.0, including IoT, AI, additive manufacturing, robotics, and smart systems. Responsibilities include collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, supporting national and regional Industry 4.0 initiatives, designing and executing pilot projects, and contributing to research proposals and external funding efforts. The role also involves technology transfer, publication of high-impact research, patent generation, and participation in workshops, seminars, and conferences.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, chemistry, physics, computer science, manufacturing, supply chain, or a related discipline. Hands-on experience in battery materials synthesis, characterization, and electrochemical testing, as well as a strong publication record in Q1 journals, are required. Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies, interdisciplinary research, digital transformation frameworks, and collaboration with industry partners is highly valued.
