Postdoctoral Researcher in Hydrogen Production Processes and Chemical Engineering

King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher specializing in Hydrogen Production Processes within the Department of Chemical Engineering. The position focuses on advanced research areas including hydrogen production, thermochemical processes, waste to energy conversion, chemical looping, reforming, life cycle analysis, artificial intelligence applications, and techno-economic analysis. The successful candidate will join the research group led by Associate Professor Usama Ahmed, contributing to innovative projects at the intersection of process engineering and sustainable energy technologies. Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field, with the degree awarded in 2022 or later from a university ranked in the QS Top 300 (2025 edition). A strong academic record is required, with no grades of D or F (or equivalent) throughout the academic career. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in one or more of the following areas: hydrogen production, thermochemical processes, waste to energy, chemical looping, reforming, life cycle analysis, AI, or techno-economic analysis. The position offers a competitive monthly salary of USD $4000 for a 2-3 year contract, along with a housing allowance, 30 days paid annual vacation, annual repatriation tickets, access to campus medical services and facilities, and additional benefits such as use of community facilities and a private beach.
