The successful candidate will join the College of Science and Engineering and participate in Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage Projects, working on impactful research related to freshwater/marine and groundwater/surface water systems. Research topics include sand tank experimentation, field-scale groundwater modelling, adaptive management, quantification of submarine groundwater discharge, and nutrient transport analysis. The project offers opportunities to use a range of field, modelling, and laboratory techniques, and to collaborate with experts in oceanography, geomorphology, hydrochemistry, geophysics, and mathematical modelling from Flinders University and other Australian institutions. The principal supervisor is Prof. Adrian Werner. Applicants should have a strong background in hydrogeology or a related field, with desirable skills in computer modelling, coding, and field-based techniques. The scholarship provides a tax-free stipend of AUD 33,533 per annum for three years (with possible extension), and covers tuition fees for eligible students. The application deadline is November 30, 2025. Interested candidates should contact Prof. Adrian Werner and submit a cover letter, CV, references, and a sample of research work.
