The KAUST Global Fellowship Program for Early Career Researchers is a prestigious postdoctoral opportunity at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia. Each fellow receives up to $40,000 in research funding, a generous annual living stipend of $75,000, and comprehensive benefits such as medical insurance, accommodation, schooling for up to two children, relocation allowance, and annual travel allowance. The program supports full-time research, enabling fellows to focus on their projects with financial security. KAUST’s extensive international network provides opportunities for collaboration with academia, industry, government agencies, and funding bodies, helping fellows build successful partnerships for their future careers.
Professional development is a key component, with access to mentoring, teaching certificates, and leadership programs, as well as networking with other fellows and alumni. Eligibility requires a Ph.D. awarded within four years of the application deadline or completion before the fellowship start, readiness to relocate to KAUST, and confirmation of a KAUST faculty host. Proposals must align with KAUST’s research priorities and divisions: Biological and Environmental Science and Engineering (BESE), Computer, Electrical, and Mathematical Science and Engineering (CEMSE), and Physical Science and Engineering (PSE).
Applications are accepted annually from July 1st to January 15th via the online portal, with all documents required for review. The program welcomes applicants of all nationalities and encourages female scientists to apply, promoting gender balance in science and engineering.
