Funding details

The scholarship is fully funded, providing a living allowance of AUD 39,700 per annum (indexed) and a tuition fee offset. Both domestic and international applicants are eligible.

What's required

Applicants must have a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field and meet Macquarie University’s PhD entry requirements, including English language proficiency. Experience in molecular cloning or analogous molecular biology work is required. Preferred backgrounds include biochemistry, molecular biology, synthetic biology, microbiology, and entomology. Additional desirable skills are experience with insect rearing or insect molecular methods, familiarity with gene editing tools (CRISPR, transgenesis), and a collaborative, self-motivated mindset. Interest in applied research, environmental sustainability, or biotechnology ventures is advantageous.
