“Multi-fidelity digital twin of coastal infrastructure for enhanced resilience”
Coastal communities face increasing risks due to climate change, including rising sea levels, stronger storms, and coastal erosion. This PhD project aims to enhance the resilience of critical coastal infrastructure by developing a cutting-edge digital twin - a virtual model that combines real-time data and advanced simulations to inform better decision-making.
The project will combine diverse models and observations to support long-term planning and emergency responses, with North Tyneside Coast as the primary case study. This ensures the approach is practical, robust, and impactful in managing future coastal risks.
