The successful candidate will contribute to the Electromobility Charging Solutions for Local and Cross-Border Commuters in Luxembourg and Beyond (e-CoLux) project, funded by the Luxembourg Research Fund (FNR). The project focuses on distinct EV commuter archetypes, cross-border commuting patterns, and the dynamic relationship between infrastructure deployment and tariff design. The aim is to develop a data-driven decision support system for effective infrastructure deployment and tariff design, tailored to the needs of various commuter groups.
In addition to e-CoLux, the candidate will participate in Prof. Fridgen's PayPal-FNR PEARL Research Grant, engaging in research areas such as Information Systems Engineering, Energy Economics, and Consumer & Behavioral Research. Integration into a larger research team on energy markets and quantitative methods offers opportunities for collaboration and the development of an individual research portfolio. The position allows candidates to align their doctoral training with personal academic interests and career goals.
Applicants must have a Master's degree in Information Systems, Economics, Operations Research, or related fields, with strong knowledge of quantitative and computational research methods, ideally in numerical optimization and simulation models. Proficiency in a major programming language, such as Python, is required. Language proficiency at B2-level in the thesis language is mandatory, with accepted certificates as specified by the university.
