About this position

I'll be in Austin for the 30th Symposium on Operating Systems Principles (SOSP) over the next few days. Excited to reconnect with old friends and mentors, network with colleagues and new community members, and most importantly, learn from the experts.

Viktor Gsteiger
will present our paper there on how holistic and fine-grained geospatial shifting can reduce carbon emissions of cloud workloads. A few colleagues who have heard about our work or read our paper have mentioned that it’s quite interesting. So, come to our session, Tuesday (11/5), 2-3:30pm, and learn more about our system, Caribou. Also, Daniel Long
will lead the poster presentation of this paper, Monday, 4:30-6:30pm.

If you can’t make it to SOSP, here are the links to our paper and the open-source framework:

System: https://lnkd.in/gDRNZwMM

Lastly, my lab ( https://cirrus.ece.ubc.ca/ ) is actively conducting research in the area of sustainability in computing, and I'm looking for passionate PhD students to join my team. If interested, reach out by email. phdposition
