The Doctoral School of Communication and Arts at Roskilde University in Denmark is offering fully funded PhD positions for a 3-year period, starting in Fall 2026. These positions are open to candidates interested in interdisciplinary research at the intersection of Communication, Media Studies, Journalism, Cultural Studies, Philosophy, History, and Arts & Humanities. PhD candidates will benefit from supervision by two faculty members from different research groups, ensuring a broad and interdisciplinary approach to their research. A strong, original PhD proposal aligned with the department’s research profile is required. Teaching at the BA and MA levels is part of the role, and a teaching portfolio may be necessary for the application. Foreign diplomas will be assessed for equivalence, and proficiency in English or Danish is required.

The funding package includes a full salary according to the Danish collective agreement for university staff, tuition, supervision, office space, and course allowances. Alternative funding models may involve external partners or enterprise schemes, but these positions are primarily university-funded.
